Sundash Privacy Policy

Location. Sundash asks for your device's location (“when in use” only -- never in the background) to show weather for where you are. Your coordinates are sent directly to our weather data provider, OpenWeatherMap, to retrieve a forecast; Sundash has no server of its own, so your location is never stored by us or sent anywhere else. If you deny or later revoke location access, Sundash still works -- you can add cities manually by name instead.

Cities you add. If you search for and save additional cities, the city name and coordinates are stored only in local storage on your device (not on any server we operate) so your saved locations persist between app sessions.

App settings. Your preferences -- units, theme, notification times, and similar settings -- are stored locally on your device only.

Usage analytics. Sundash uses PostHog, an EU-hosted analytics provider, to understand how the app is used -- for example, when the app is opened or a setting is changed. We only send a small, fixed set of manually-triggered events; Sundash does not use PostHog's automatic event capture, and these events aren't linked to your name, email, or any other identifying information. PostHog's SDK may associate events with an anonymous, device-generated identifier and basic technical data (device type, OS version, app version) for aggregate product analytics.

Purchases. Sundash offers optional premium features via subscription or one-time purchase, processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment details (card numbers, billing information) are handled entirely by Apple or Google -- Sundash never sees or stores them. To manage entitlements, Sundash uses RevenueCat, which receives a device/purchase identifier and your purchase and subscription status from the app store on our behalf, so Sundash can unlock the features you've paid for and let you restore a purchase on a new device.

Notifications. Sports weather alerts are scheduled and generated entirely on your device from weather data already downloaded to the app. No notification content or push token is sent to or generated by any Sundash server.

We use the information above solely to show you accurate, local weather and forecasts; remember your saved cities and preferences; understand aggregate app usage so we can improve Sundash; and deliver and manage the premium features you purchase. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

We use a small number of service providers, each acting only for the purpose below: OpenWeatherMap receives your GPS coordinates and city search queries, to return weather forecasts and city lookups. PostHog receives anonymous usage events and device/app metadata, for product analytics. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription identifiers, to manage your premium entitlements. Apple App Store and Google Play receive your payment and purchase information, to process payments. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose described here.

Location: you can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Sundash will still work using manually added cities.

Notifications: sports alerts can be turned off at any time in Sundash's settings, or by disabling notifications for Sundash in your device settings.

Deleting your data: because almost all app data lives only on your device, uninstalling Sundash removes your saved cities, settings, and local cache. Purchase history is retained by Apple/Google and RevenueCat per their own policies, independent of the app itself.

Sundash is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
